In what was one of the most exciting first rounds in MMA history, two legends opened the first round of their with an explosion of punches. After a brief clinch up along the cage, both former Pride champs went toe to toe with Fedor getting the better of Henderson and stunning him for a brief moment. However within a split second Dan Henderson was able to recover and landed a brutal upper cut that caught Fedor Emelianenko off guard while he was on his hands and knees. And as quickly as it started, the “Clash of the Titans” was over as referee Herb Dean called it.
