Rumor: Fedor is in talks with the UFC

There’s a new rumor regarding the fate of “The Last Emperor” Fedor Emelianenko and his MMA career. Rumor is that Fedor’s management team has again renewed talks with Dana White and the UFC. With one more fight on Fedor’s contract with Strikeforce he’ll soon be a free agent if he doesn’t sign with Strikeforce again. With the way Strikeforce is handling Fedor’s last fight, I don’t blame M1 Global and Fedor for entertaining offers from other organizations.

While this is still only a rumor, it seems like there are a few going around regarding Strikeforce’s fighters. Just the other day Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion Alistair Overeem was rumored to be in talks to join the UFC after his current contract with Strikeforce expires. Overeem stated those rumors were indeed false however. With Fedor’s recent loss to Fabricio Werdum, Dana White made it clear that he is no longer interested in bringing Fedor into the UFC, but seeing how Emelianenko is still a huge draw with MMA fans, it may make sense for the UFC to try and snag Fedor away from Strikeforce. If Fedor does enter the octagon, at least we can squash the best pound-for-pound debate once and for all as Fedor goes up against the best the UFC has to offer..
