Tim Sylvia says he wants back into the UFC, and he plans to make a statement during his next fight with Paul Buentello at War in the Mainland event on August 18th in Irvine, CA. Both Sylvia and Buentello were former fighters in the UFC heavyweight division, with Sylvia holding the heavyweight title for a while. Both men were eventually cut from the UFC after a series of losses. Moosin states that they are currently working on a second event that Sylvia will headline against Hong Man Choi on October 9th

“In the MMA world, I need to win this fight in fashion to make a statement that I’m back said Sylvia. We were supposed to fight once or twice and now it’s finally going to happen. It’s going to be a great fight and show. Paul’s a gamer. He’s a good striker with a lot of knockouts. He likes to bang, just like me, and that’s what fans want to see.”

It’s always great for a fighter to be motivated and have a goal to rise up through the ranks again, but with the stacked heavyweight division in the UFC it may be a hard up hill battle for Tim Sylvia.
